Macomb County Estate Planning Attorney

Macomb County’s population of over 800,000 people makes it the third-most populous county in Michigan. The towns of Warren, Sterling Heights, and Clinton Township are three of the ten most populated towns in Michigan as well.

Though it was settled by the Ojibwe before Europeans made it to the Americas, Macomb County was officially formed in 1818. It was coincidentally the third county formed in the Michigan territory. Named after War of 1812 veteran and Detroit-born Alexander Macomb, Macomb County actually shares a southeastern border with Canada.

As of the 2010 census, 85% of people residing in Macomb County were white, 31% of households had children under the age of eighteen living in them, and only four percent of families were under the poverty line. Over 85% of people graduated high school, which is higher than the average rate in the rest of Michigan.

Macomb County boasts over 12,000 acres of parks for their citizens, who use the space to play sports, camp, and hunt. In addition, fishing is a very popular activity as Macomb has 31 miles of coastline and over 100 marinas within its borders.

While it is home to many athletes, actors, and celebrities, Macomb County’s most famous notable people are probably musicians Kid Rock, Eminem, and Alice Cooper. While Macomb County is filled with beautiful communities, cities, and scenery, Eminem grew famous in large part because of his humble beginnings in a trailer park outside of Detroit.

While not every citizen of Macomb County is as rich as Eminem or Alice Cooper, it is important to preserve the wealth you have created for your family well past your death. By creating an estate plan with an experienced Macomb County estate planning attorney, you can ensure that your family is taken care of. Even if you wrote up a last will and testament or told your kids how you want your estate divided when you pass, it is best to not leave anything to chance and consult legal guidance with your estate plan.
